Professor Linda Dwoskin

Linda Dwoskin, PhD is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Behavioral Sciences in the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine at the University of Kentucky. She is the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Pharmacy, the Director of a National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) T32 Training Grant and the Director of a U01 grant from NIDA. She earned her PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Minnesota, and after postdoctoral training in Endocrinology at the Oregon Health Sciences Center and in Pharmacology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, she joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky. Her research has been supported continuously by the NIH for the past 29 years and focuses on neuropharmacology and drug discovery, specifically discovery of novel therapeutics for psychostimulant use disorders, including methamphetamine use disorder. She has published over 265 manuscripts and book chapters and is an inventor on 116 intellectual property disclosures, patent applications and patents. Also, Dr. Dwoskin was founder and vice president of Yaupon Therapeutics/Ceptaris Inc. An outcome of this entrepreneurial activity was the approval by the FDA of Valchlor®, a treatment for Stage 1A and 1B mycosis fungoides-type cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, which is on the market in the USA.
